Tackling Presenteeism at workplace
Presenteeism, the practice of employees showing up for work and performing poorly, because they are mentally and physically sick. This is a serious threat to employee well-being, organisational culture, and productivity. The main drawbacks, include decreased production, the spread of sickness, and longer recovery times. Remote work has made things even more difficult by bringing in digital presenteeism, a condition where there is demand to be online at all times. Setting limits for remote work, providing enough sick leave, implementing support programs like EAPs, and having clear policies are all necessary to combat presenteeism.
