Bereavement Leave Entitlement
In NZ, an employee becomes entitled to bereavement leave after 12 months of continuous employment. They are entitled to three days paid leave per bereavement to mourn the loss of an immediate family member. They are entitled to one day paid leave per bereavement to mourn the loss of other persons close to them.
