Public Holiday Pay
Employees who work on public holidays in New Zealand are entitled to be paid at least time and a half for the hours they work on that day. If it is an otherwise working day for the employee, then they are also entitled to a paid day off to be taken at a later date. If they do not work on a public holiday that is an otherwise working day, then they should be paid their normal pay for that day
