HR management helps businesses achieve compliance, handle staff issues and keep their workplace running smoothly. It’s especially valuable for employers who don’t have a dedicated HR team, because it reduces the risk of costly mistakes, saves time and gives you clear processes to follow when problems come up. Good HR management also supports better documentation, fair decision making and a more consistent employee experience.
Good human resource management in New Zealand means having clear processes, accurate and up-to date documentation, and support you can rely on when staff issues come up. This includes managing documentation, policies, staff issues, performance concerns, onboarding, record keeping and general day to day people management. Health and Safety is a range of practices and policies designed to prevent accidents and injuries to your employees, visitors or customers.
The person conducting the business or undertaking has the primary duty of care for workplace health and safety. This means that you need a safe working environment and that process and procedure is documented.
Employees also have responsibilities under most legislation, such as ensuring that they following any directions provided for the purposes of health and safety and ensuring that their actions do not affect the health and safety of others.
The first step in managing health and safety at work is having a health and safety policy at work. This policy should be clearly and regularly communicated with your employees.
Peninsula's experienced Health and Safety experts can help you identify potential hazards and find ways to reduce risks to staff. Ensuring your workplace is as safe as possible. This will free up time and calm any worries you have about workplace accidents and costly compensation claims.
