As an employer managing misconduct can be complex and challenging. You also need to understand the difference between general and serious misconduct and the appropriate action to take.
General misconduct can include repeated lateness, inappropriate language, misuse of company computers, or behaving inappropriately towards other employees. Serious misconduct can include theft or fraud, use of illegal drugs or drinking alcohol at work, violence toward an employer or another employee, and harassment.
Serious misconduct could lead to termination of employment.
