If an employee is suddenly absent from work for an extended period, generally three days or more, and have failed to notify you as their employer why they are absent, they are considered to have abandoned their employment.
Although it’s easy to assume when an employee fails to turn up for work they have abandoned their employment, there may be other reasonable explanations.
